Hermanus
Nowhere else in the world can you see whales swim as close to the beach as in Hermanus! Every winter (meaning between the end of May and beginning of November) hundreds of whale cows and their newborns can be found along the coast of the Indian Ocean - most of them near Hermanus. This is why a special Whale Festival is celebrated here each year.
